Hunting Information
In the heart of pristine nature, north of Windhoek on the border of Etosha National Park, lies our hunting area—a true paradise for wildlife enthusiasts. This area is home to a stunning variety of animals, including majestic zebras, graceful giraffes, 18 species of antelope, and iconic predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs—all in their natural habitat.
Hunts take place in areas free from intensive cattle farming, ensuring an authentic and natural experience. The absence of internal fences allows for optimal wildlife observation and interaction. Hunting is either done from blinds at one of eight watering holes or by stalking—safari-style hunting from vehicles has no place here. Once the desired game is spotted, you approach it on foot with a professional guide. At this point, the adventure begins—the decision to harvest the game is entirely yours.
We prioritize responsible and ethical hunting; only mature, trophy-worthy animals are selected for harvesting. The hunter's decision to take the shot is paramount, so all circumstances must be carefully considered. Remember, any wounded and unrecovered game is considered harvested and will be charged according to the price list. Our primary goal is to ensure ethical hunting and maximize efforts for recovery. Get ready for an unforgettable experience in Namibia's untamed wilderness!
Traveling to Namibia – Your African Wilderness Odyssey
Your journey begins with a flight to Windhoek, Namibia's capital, departing from Vienna or Budapest. Flights typically include one layover at renowned airports such as Frankfurt or Addis Ababa. The total flight duration is approximately 10 hours, so we recommend opting for a comfortable class, at least Premium Economy, to arrive rested and ready for adventure.
The transfer from the airport to the hunting area takes about 5 hours, with a break for refreshments and a visit to a local taxidermy facility.
A valid passport is required to travel to Namibia. Slovak citizens must also obtain a visa, which can be issued upon arrival at Windhoek International Airport.
Keep in mind that Namibia operates in the GMT+2 time zone, one hour ahead of Central European Time (CET). Adjusting to this time shift might be necessary upon arrival.
Weather
June and July are part of Namibia's winter season, characterized by dry and cool conditions.
June:
- Temperature: Daytime averages between 20–25°C, while nighttime temperatures can drop to 5–10°C.
- Conditions: Minimal rainfall and sparse vegetation make these months ideal for hunting, as animals congregate around water sources.
The mild temperatures and clear weather in June and July make them excellent months for hunting. However, layering clothing for cold nights and staying hydrated are essential.
Accommodation and Meals
Imagine a place where luxury meets the untamed beauty of the African wilderness. Our hunting camp, located in the heart of the hunting area, offers a unique atmosphere with endless views of watering holes where animals roam freely. Choose from three luxury rooms with private bathrooms or one of two secluded hunting lodges that make you feel at home. Amenities include Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and laundry services, allowing you to focus on hunting and relaxation.
The camp's central hub is a spacious communal area where hunters gather to share meals and recount their unforgettable experiences. Evening gatherings around the outdoor fire pit bring an authentic African ambiance, where tales of the day's adventures come to life.
Our kitchen serves high-quality meals tailored to hunters' preferences, featuring local delicacies, including game meat, and popular European dishes. Special dietary requests or intolerances can be accommodated upon request to ensure a delightful dining experience.
Equipment and Gear – Keys to Your Hunting Adventure
Your gear depends on the season and the type of game you're targeting. Generally, standard European calibers like 8x57IJ, 7x64, and 30-06 are sufficient. For tougher game such as wildebeest, zebras, or elands, a caliber with a higher stopping effect is recommended. Accuracy and shot placement always take precedence.
Equally important is your clothing. From June to August, pack gloves, a practical hat, and warm outerwear. Dressing in layers is essential to adapt to changing temperatures. Opt for durable, thorn-resistant materials for protection in the bush.
Leave your shooting sticks at home; your guide will provide one. A lightweight binocular with a rangefinder or a variable-magnification riflescope is useful for spotting and hunting (whether near waterholes or in open landscapes).
Given the dry air and dust of the African wilderness, bring nasal sprays for comfort. Sun protection, including sunscreen and a good hat, is essential. A complete list of recommended equipment will be provided upon booking.
