Hunting Information
The best time for roe deer hunting in Castellón Province is April and later in July during the peak rutting season. The hunt is conducted similarly to those at home, starting early in the morning by stalking, actively searching for roe deer in the surrounding fields, groves, and rocky terraces. Due to high temperatures at midday, the game rests and becomes inactive, so the hunt resumes in the afternoon. The hunting area spans an impressive 100,000 hectares, often requiring car transfers to cover as much area as possible. A team of professional hunting guides, who know the terrain and the local wildlife's behavior well, accompanies hunters throughout the stay. The vastness of the hunting area allows hunters to experience lowlands, hills, and plateaus, showcasing the diversity and beauty of the local flora. Small terraced fields alternate with shrubs, oak forests, and pine woods, enabling hunters to approach the game unnoticed to the desired shooting distance.
Travel Details
- Day 1: Departure from Vienna or Budapest and arrival in Valencia. Transfer from the airport to the hacienda. If arriving early, there is an option for the first afternoon/evening outing.
- Day 2-4: Hunting takes place similarly to home, with stalking in the early morning hours and resuming in the evening after cooling down.
- Day 5: Return home.
Weather
The weather depends on the chosen month; generally, pleasant Mediterranean weather with warm daytime temperatures can be expected. Lighter clothing is recommended. In the earlier months, prepare for cooler mornings. The saying "there's no bad weather, only badly dressed hunters" applies, so check the weather forecast before your trip and adjust your clothing accordingly, both hunting and casual.
Equipment and Gear
Roe deer hunting in Spain is similar to that at home. Game is hunted at various distances, so be prepared for different situations. The professional guide is equipped with a shooting stick and high-magnification observational equipment (spotting scope or ultra-zoom camera), which they use to thoroughly examine the game and assist in approving the harvest for clients. A comfortable backpack is recommended for carrying personal items like a water bottle or a change of clothes.
Summary
This comprehensive hunting trip to Castellón Province, Spain, offers an extensive and rewarding hunting experience with professional guidance, full board accommodation, and transportation. Be prepared with the right gear and enjoy the diverse terrain and pleasant Mediterranean climate while pursuing quality roe deer trophies.
Itinerář
The best time for deer hunting in the province of Castellón is April and later July during the height of the rut. The hunting itself is carried out similarly to our country. We start early in the morning with a trail, when we actively look for roe deer in the surrounding fields, in draws and on rock terraces. During lunch, due to the high temperature, the animal rests and is inactive, so we continue only in the afternoon. The area in which we hunt has an area of a respectable 100 thousand ha, so we often move by car in order to cover the largest possible area. During the entire stay, we are accompanied by a team of professional hunting guides who know the terrain and the ethology of the local game perfectly. Thanks to the vastness of the hunting area, we alternate lowlands with hills and plateaus, thanks to which we discover the diversity and beauty of the local flora. Small terrace fields are replaced by bushes, thickets and pine forests, thanks to which we can get to the game without being observed at the required shooting distance.

Náročnost
For trips marked with this type of difficulty, moderate to moderate demands are placed on the hunter's physical condition. However, they are manageable for everyone who likes smaller challenges. We encounter this degree of difficulty mainly in mountain types of hunting, when hunting is mainly at the foot of slopes or in lower mountain locations.
