Hunting Information
Our hunting area is located north of Windhoek, on the border with Etosha National Park, and is home to untouched nature and the greatest diversity of wildlife in Namibia, including zebras, giraffes, 18 species of antelopes, and feline predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, which are here in their natural environment. We hunt in a territory without intensive cattle breeding and therefore without internal fences, with a watchtower at one of 8 places at the waterhole or a stand (NOT from a car), where after spotting the desired game, together with professional guidance, you will approach it on foot and it will be up to you whether you decide to hunt it. Only mature trophy specimens are selected for hunting. The shot itself is always the sovereign decision of the hunter, and therefore before pulling the trigger, all circumstances must be taken into account. Wounded and unrecovered game is considered hunted and thus charged according to the price list. Maximum effort is always made to recover the game.
Travel Details to the Country
The journey begins with a flight to Windhoek from Vienna or Budapest, usually with one layover at Frankfurt Airport. The flight itself is long (about 10 hours), so we recommend considering booking a higher class of service, at least Premium Economy. Depending on the size of the group and the season, the transfer from the airport to the hunting area is done by car or plane for an additional fee. The car journey takes approximately 5 hours with a break for refreshments or a stop at the preparatory, and by plane about 90 minutes. To travel to Namibia, a valid passport is required, and for citizens of the Slovak Republic, a visa requirement applies, which can be arranged on-site upon arrival at Windhoek International Airport.
Weather
During the hunting season, the weather is usually favorable, and rainfall is rare. March - May and September - November have the most pleasant weather - daytime temperatures hover around 30-35°C, and mornings are cooler. During our summer months, June to August, which is winter in the southern hemisphere, days are cooler (25-30°C), and mornings are sometimes frosty, with temperatures reaching as low as 3-5°C. Therefore, it is important to have warmer clothing with you.
Accommodation and Food
Accommodation in the hunting area is a embodiment of 5* luxury located in the African wilderness with an undisturbed view of the waterhole from the large pool. There are three luxury rooms with en-suite bathrooms or two separately located hunting cottages. WiFi connection, air conditioning, and laundry services are available. The camp includes a large common room where hunters dine and spend time together. However, most of the time outside of hunting, hunters spend at the outdoor fireplace at the bar, which evokes the true African atmosphere during evenings and thus is the center of exchange of hunting experiences from past days. The food is prepared at a high level and reflects the tastes and needs of hunters. You will have the opportunity to taste various local specialties made mainly from game meat, as well as many common European dishes. If you have intolerance or special requirements, do not hesitate to let us know, we will be happy to accommodate you.
Equipment and Gear
Everything depends on the season and the desired game. In general, however, a standard European caliber (8x57IJ, 7x64, 30-06, etc.) will be sufficient for hunting. Among the tougher game are gemsbok, zebra, or eland, where a higher stopping effect is desired, but as always, shot placement is crucial. The same goes for clothing, but during the months of June to August, gloves, a hat, or a warm top should be packed, as layers are essential and with the rising sun, you will be shedding layers and vice versa. For the omnipresent thorny bushes, it is necessary to choose the upper part of clothing from a strong and durable material. Leave your shooting stick at home, the professional guide will gladly provide you with his. A lightweight observation binocular, ideally with a rangefinder, or binoculars with variable magnification will serve you well (hunting from a hide at the waterhole at about 50m vs hunting from a stand in open country at how far you dare). For the dry air and dustiness, nasal sprays will be appreciated, and for the omnipresent sun, sunscreen and head covering.
